Vintage Givenchy Black Lace Dress

A Hubert de Givenchy masterpiece. This black lace dress has Art Deco and Victorian influences-it’s delicate and intricate fan like pattern is perfection. The modern and timeless silhouette suits a lady from afternoon till evening. With the Givenchy Nouvelle Boutique vintage label and appearing to have no wear at all it is an extremely rare piece. Like many of my pieces the first to wear it is my model. The fan-like intricate lace detail reminds me of lunch at Claridge’s in London or early evening cocktails at The Belle Rives in Antibes. A sheer nude underlay is hand sewn as is the delicate hand-sewn snap paneled opening in back. Elegant and feminine. I imagine a lithe graceful figure such as Audrey Hepburn or Crazy Rich Asians cast members Michelle Yeoh and Sinoya Mizuno. It is a vintage size 6 which is closely equivalent to a US 0-2, UK 4-6, etc. Made in France. More photos coming shortly in digital. I wanted to share it so took this photo using an iPhone 10.
